Could you be opposing you?

Could you be opposing you?

What's the problem?

Have you figured it out yet or are you still in la-la land?

Are you playing a direct role in your own troubles?

What's the excuse this time?

What did God say about it?

It's time to get real about who we are and what we should and should not be doing. We claim to understand that tomorrow isn't promised to anyone and that we can be here today and gone tomorrow (James 4:13-15), but is your lifestyle telling a different story?

Why would I want to live as an enemy of the living God when the living God is allowing me to live?

That's what I prayed word for word late one night last week. I'm realizing that the more intimate I am with God, the more I understand that He is not to be played with. And when I stopped rebelling against His word in order to appear "cool" and "down-to-earth" to other people, the LORD allowed me to see things more clearly, including who I am and why I need Him. When you truly abide in Jesus, then you know that God really does have the whole world in His hands, and at any moment He can send out a command to make us more fruitful than we could've ever imagined or He can allow something to happen that causes us to fall flat on our faces. Why? Because He is God, a great King who is worthy of our very best.

"'But cursed be the deceiver who has in his flock a male, and takes a vow but sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished -- for I am a great King,' says the LORD of hosts, 'and My name is to be feared among the nations.'" - Malachi 1:14

Unfortunately, what we offer to God doesn't always reflect how much faith and trust we should have in Him. On the outside, some people appear to be an ally for the kingdom of heaven; but on the inside, they make decisions based on the desires of their flesh. What's even more disheartening is that we have no problem weeping and complaining about the battles that we fight yet fail to acknowledge when we are the Achan in our own camp (Joshua 7).

Let's be honest, you don't need another prophetic word, you need to take action.

  • Reset your defaults.
  • Build what God has told you to.
  • Separate yourself from the people & places that corrupt your relationship with God.
  • Stop waiting to go on a fast when it's convenient for your belly and your schedule, and sit at Jesus' feet.
With God under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, it's possible to win every battle that you face in your life, if you're willing to stop being your own worst enemy.
