It's a trap!

It's a trap!

I'm on assignment for the LORD and you should be too if you actually believe what Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 12:12-19.

"For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.... If the foot should say, 'Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,' is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say, 'Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,' is it therefore not of the body?'.... But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased."

I love that Paul likens followers of Jesus Christ to the various parts of the human body and how he takes the time to emphasize the value of every part. It's a reminder to all of us that God has a purpose and a plan for each of us, so there's no use in coveting another man or woman of God's calling. As a matter of fact, that will only lead to dysfunction within the body because you can't perform your duties well if you're too busy coveting someone else's.

What's even more concerning than jealousy within the body of Christ are the distractions that are meant to keep us lost, confused, and out of position. When a member of the body is distracted, they usually distract other members which disrupts the production of good fruit for the kingdom of God. As laborers for Christ, we must be vigilant about not being led astray by a bad report, false teachings, and false doctrine. The Holy Spirit tells us everything we need in order to prepare for what's next but preparation can't happen when you allow your feelings & emotions about what's going on in the world to sweep you into a state of panic and delusion.

Focusing on Jesus is the key to avoiding the traps of Satan. Traps that are designed to keep you bound to bitterness and iniquity instead of thriving in what the LORD has called you to do. Don't fall for it! Remember the devil doesn't care about whether or not you worship him. He simply wants to ensure that you're too distracted with worry to worship and serve God.
