What do you do when you've been exposed? When your weaknesses rise to the surface for other people to see and hiding in your head isn't an option because the issues flow from your heart. As someone that's working out my own salvation, my recommendation is that you pray. It's honestly the most reasonable response to the pruning that the LORD does in us, especially during difficult times, so that we can bear fruit for Him in any season.
Galatians 5:22 tells us that the 9 fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These fruits enable us to be effective for the kingdom of God in every assignment that He gives us. The problem is that our flesh wants to do the total opposite and when we find ourselves in an uncomfortable or unstable situation, we are tempted to respond from the flesh instead of being led by the Holy Spirit.
Don't allow a concern to cause you to curse yourself.
This recent revelation helped me understand how these type of situations create concerns for us and one of the definitions of concern is a matter that causes feelings of unease, uncertainty, or apprehension. And if you're like most humans, you might complain & murmur when you feel uneasy and that's where we mess up because we fail to grasp how powerful our tongues actually are. So, we begin to speak in a despicable way and allow vile thoughts to run rampant in our minds. This my friends is how curses are established, blessings are delayed or lost altogether. Remember when Esau lost his birthright in Genesis 25 because he despised it after he told his twin brother Jacob that he was about to die from weariness? I don't know about you but losing something so valuable due to a moment of impatience or disgust doesn't seem worth it to me.
"Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands." - Psalm 138:7-8
When you make prayer your lifestyle, you are choosing to surrender all your emotions to God no matter how you feel. You understand that the LORD has no desire to rob those that are His of our peace and praying through it shows the Father that you trust Him to perfect everything that is a concern to you. Obviously, this isn't always easy to do but I'm sure that most of us have a testimony about how much better things worked out for us when we gave God control instead of wasting time wrestling with our flesh. Take it from me, stop warring through the flesh and posture yourself in prayer through the Spirit. God can handle it.
