What if God wants to give you extra?
Extra opportunities.
Extra time.
Extra resources.
Extra favor.
Extra everything!
However, based on your life, background, and present situation, you may feel like the possibility of receiving extra anything good, especially if it has the potential to transform your life for the better, is pretty far-fetched. You might not even allow yourself to consider that the LORD has more stored up for you and your family because you've made "peace" with the limitations that you feel you have (which in some cases are actually excuses if we're being honest) about what God can do in, through, and for you.
If you are set on not changing your mind, so be it but I do have a question for those of you that want to believe there's more in Him. Is God only as powerful as you see yourself or would you agree that He is bigger than you're able to fully comprehend?
“'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,' says the LORD. 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.'" - Isaiah 55:8-9
Some of you might be thinking, "Abby you haven't walked in my shoes, seen what I've seen, done what I've done, been where I've been, and had the trouble I've had". You're absolutely right. Still, the facts are that none of the trials & tribulations that you and I have gone through changes God's command to mankind to be fruitful and multiply on the earth, and one of the things that I know about reaping a harvest is that sometimes you get extra fruit. In order to bear good fruit, we must obey God, which means that in order to be in a place to receive overflow, your position must be in Christ and your posture must be obedience to the Father.
It's an overflow of living water for goodness sake! We all want the abounding goodness and faithfulness of God to overflow in our lives. That's why we must be careful not to deceive ourselves into thinking that we have leeway to rebel against Him in little ways simply because we know how to trust Him when it comes to the "big stuff". Remember it's the small foxes that spoil the vine (Song of Solomon 2:15) and without a healthy vine, the branches can't grow and bear good fruit.
So, who cares if they think you're being too religious now. It doesn't matter how long you use to go there or do that. If they don't want to hang out with you anymore because you talk about God too much, don't put up a fight. God is calling you out! He wants to set you apart and wants you to walk worthy of His calling on your life because whether or not you can see it right now, He has extra for you.
Here's my 2-minute testimony of God doing extra for me today.
